Soyo is an artist from Seoul, Korea.
She studies the social and institutional constructs that inspire contemporary artists who work with life and living things.
Her current method is to create historical reproductions of important life and medical science experiments.
These reproductions are made through translating and reinterpreting the technical requirements and scientific value of
old research projects into today’s perspective.
Soyo is director of Onion Lab @ The BioArt Initiative, and is working on a practice-based arts PhD at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
